With the Fourth of July weekend upon us, families are planning their weekend picnics and will be hitting area State Parks to celebrate. One of the more popular is Audra State Park located just off Route 119 in Buckhannon. Park Superintendent Jon Teets says that some of the reasons why the State Park maintains it’s popularity is it offers families a low-cost vacation, a great place to enjoy the outdoors. Teets went on to say that it maintains a family friendly atmosphere and that is what Teets and his staff of Audra want to maintain. One of the rules that they strongly maintain is the no-alcohol policy. Teets stated that this is maintained through such actions as asking to look at the contents of a cooler. Teets wants to ensure that all that visit the state park have an enjoyable and safe stay.
